My 2023 Fall decor details
Embracing Autumn Elegance: My Fall 2023 Decor Journey
I know, I know it’s still technically summer. But, at the beginning of August I will find myself eagerly transitioning my home into a warm, inviting haven for Fall 2024 . Last season, I drew inspiration from nature’s rich palette and the timeless charm of traditional autumn decor, blending them with a modern twist to create a space that is both cozy and stylish. Here’s a peek into my fall decor journey, complete with tips, sources, and the inspiration behind my look (all sources will be at the bottom)
A Palette of Warmth
For Fall 2023, I chose a color palette that reflects the true essence of the season. Think deep rusts, burnt oranges, rich browns, and a touch of gold to add a bit of sparkle. These colors not only evoke the feeling of autumn but also create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Nature-Inspired Elements
Incorporating natural elements is key to capturing the spirit of fall. I brought in plenty of textures and materials that evoke the outdoors, enhancing the seasonal feel.
Textural Variety
Layering textures can make a space feel rich and inviting. This year, I focused on mixing different materials to enhance the cozy vibe.
Subtle Elegance
While embracing bold fall colors, I balanced them with subtle elegance to maintain a refined look.
Centerpieces and Accents
To bring it all together, I focused on creating stunning centerpieces and accents.
How I created my garland
My Fall garland looks complicated, but it is actually quite simple. I have an old mantle that has a rustic look so I typically hammer nails in to hold down the garland. However, if you do not have this type of mantle I would recommend these hooks. I first layer my garlands then I add in picks, if the picks need to be attached I recommend using floral wire or pipe cleaners in a coordinating color. I always add flameless candles for a classy touch and artwork or a mirror always brings the look together. If you have the space, adding some faux pumpkins for additional texture and height is always a good idea as well.
Inspiration and Final Thoughts
My inspiration for my Fall season decor last year came from a desire to blend traditional autumn warmth with a modern aesthetic. I aimed to create a space that feels both inviting and stylish, reflecting the natural beauty of fall while adding a touch of personal flair. The key was to embrace the season's colors, incorporate natural elements, and balance boldness with elegance.
As I enjoy the fruits of my decorating labor, I hope this post provides you with ideas and inspiration for your own fall transformation. Whether you’re decorating a cozy nook or preparing for festive gatherings, may your space be filled with the warmth and charm that only autumn can bring. Walmart , Amazon and Michaels were my go to sources for this Fall look.
Happy decorating! Elaine xo
